TOURISM & CULTURAL WORKSHOP DRAWS A HUGE CROWD

Businesses Gather at County of Renfrew Event

Pembroke, ON:  Numerous tourism and cultural businesses, individuals, and non-profit organizations gathered in Renfrew on December 4th to learn about exciting opportunities in the Ottawa Valley.  Over 75 participants took part in this workshop and came away with many ideas on marketing, business planning, and applying for federal and provincial grants within their respective fields.

Partnerships between the Ottawa Valley Tourist Association, Renfrew County Community Futures Development Corporation, the Ontario Ministries of Citizenship & Immigration, Culture, and Tourism & Recreation, and the Town of Renfrew together with the Ontario Cultural Attractions Fund and the Ontario Trillium Foundation made this information session accessible to residents of the Ottawa Valley.

Ottawa Valley Tourist Association spokesperson Marie White called the day a huge success.  “I am so pleased with the turnout and the tremendous networking of all the various businesses and groups.  Many of the participants here today learned a great deal about effective marketing and funding opportunities.  I am sure that they will attract not only Ottawa Valley residents…but a attract a national audience as well."
