2004 OTTAWA VALLEY TRAVEL GUIDE NOW AVAILABLE

Four Season Destination Guide and Map Helps Vacationers Plan Holidays

Pembroke, ON:  Individuals and families planning their vacations need look no further than the beautiful landscape of the Ottawa Valley.  The Ottawa Valley Tourism Association (OVTA) is pleased to offer 111,000 copies of these destination guides and maps to the national and international traveller looking for fun and adventure at a very affordable cost.  Ottawa Valley residents will also enjoy learning about the variety of tourism experiences found in their own backyard especially for when friends and family are visiting.

Judy Hugli, Tourism Marketing Coordinator for the OVTA, encourages anyone planning a vacation getaway to get a copy of this guide and map.  “Whether it is camping along the scenic Ottawa River, or planning a snowmobile trip among one of the many groomed trails…this guide offers something for everyone, 365 days a year!"

The 2004 Ottawa Valley Travel Guide and Map is mailed out in January and reaches a number of Visitor Centres and businesses throughout Ontario, Quebec, and the northern border American states.  The Guide and Map are part of the OVTA marketing plan that involves the OVTA website, promotional events, trade shows, media marketplaces and other advertising initiatives.

Additionally, the OVTA is introducing its new Logo and Tag Line, “Ontario’s Adventure Playground.”  It is understandable why this tag line was chosen.  The Upper Ottawa Valley is located in Ontario’s largest County – Renfrew County and has a land mass of over 7,600 sq. kms including 900 lakes and 4 major river systems. This region offers a smorgasbord of diverse tourism experiences in outdoor recreation, cultural heritage experiences and unique family fun.  Raft or kayak down world class rapids, catch a prize fish on a secluded lake, shake hands with Cinderella, visit Canada’s only clock museum, celebrate the spectacular fall foliage by limousine, ski well groomed trails and much more.   Adventures for everyone!

The fresh new logo is very colourful reflecting the region as a four seasons destination, having an abundance of water and highlighting the valleys found within.  It is very legible on merchandise, road signage and promotional material.
