Ottawa Valley is the Eastern Gateway to Algonquin Park

One of Canada’s oldest and largest provincial parks, Algonquin is an outdoor adventure paradise.  With over 7,725 sq km of protected wilderness, you can tailor your visit to suit your style.

If roughing it is your goal, explore the rocky ridges, spruce bogs, and pristine waterways of the Interior by canoe or on foot. It’s one of the best places in North America to view moose in their natural habitat.

For a vacation that’s more laid back, enjoy Algonquin’s amenities along the Hwy 60 corridor: Visitor Centre, Logging Museum, interpretive programs, hiking trails, roofed accommodations and modern campgrounds. There is easy access into the park through Sand Lake Gate, just off of Highway 17.  A short 2 km Woodland hike leads to the top of the towering 100 metre red rock cliffs, known as the Barron River Canyon.
