Pembroke Murals

Mural # 30 was installed in 2006 - A Century of Service 1896-1997. In 1896, six women planned and raised funds to build the Pembroke Cottage Hospital, opened in 1902. It quickly became too small, so they continued to work towards a second hospital that opened on October 25th 1923. Their work continues today as the Alexandra Club. The Hospital was renamed The Pembroke Civic Hospital in later years. Artist: Karole Marois, 2006.

The next project for the Pembroke Heritage Murals Committee is to be installed in 2008 on the east facing side of the Champlain Trail Museum in Pembroke, Ontario. (www.pembroke.ca)
