Ottawa River - The Lake Temiskaming Ottawa River Waterway

Since 1993, the Ottawa River waterway dam bypass system has escorted boaters along 500 km of charted Ottawa River from Fitzroy Harbour in the south, to Notre-Dame-du-Nord above New Liskeard.

Boaters customize their power boating adventures as a day-trip or a week-long holiday, beginning or ending their voyage wherever they choose. Travellers excite in the same wilderness experiences as some of Canada’s earliest explorers, sharing in the culture and hospitality of the various communities along the shoreline.

Special lift stations with state-of-the-art hydraulic trailers transport boats around dams and rocky stretches to open water at Portage du Fort, Bryson, Chapeau Desjardinsville, Rapids des Joachims, Mattawa and Temiskaming.

Lift reservations required.
