VENDOR BOXES - ADVERTISING OPPORTUNITY

The OVTA has 4 vendor boxes for the display and distribution of travel guides. Locations of the vendor boxes are as follows:

  • Wes' Chips (Arnprior): May - September
  • Laurentian View Dairy Restaurant (Deep River): January - December
  • Pembroke Mall (Pembroke): January - December
  • Fourth box rotates and will be located at various community events and shows

Advertising opportunities on the sides of the boxes are now available for members:

Cost:   $50/side (May-Sept) or $100/side (Jan-Dec)
Details:  Includes logo and web site or telephone number (full colour)

GREAT FALL DRIVES & GETAWAYS - APRIL 16

The Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership (OTMP) will be highlighting the Opeongo Line as a fall touring route in the 2008 Ontario Great Fall Drives & Getaways Guide and on their web site. This annual program targets affluent adults/couples to encourage them to get out and experience Ontario's best 2-3 day fall colour driving tours, with a focus on harvest themes and activities, including studio tours, spectacular scenic lookouts, unique shopping opportunities and regional cuisine along each route.

The OVTA has an opportunity to feature 3 fall-day or overnight packages in the guide and web site (www.ontariotravel.net/greatdrives).

Cost:  $600 / package

Details:   Includes: Package name, company name, package description (75-100 words), price, dates & duration of the package, telephone, web site, e-mail, city/town.

Audience:  Domestic (Ontario) affluent adults and couples

Distribution:  300,000 print copies in Fall 2008

Deadline:  Booking: April 10; Materials: April 22

GREAT GOLF GETAWAYS - APRIL 25

Members are invited to donate golf prizes for the annual Great Golf Getaways contest. This on-line contest promotes golfing in the Ottawa Valley and invites consumers to enter a ballot on the OVTA web site for a chance to win Ottawa Valley golfing excursions.

Cost:  Donation of golf prizes, ie: green fees, accommodations, etc.
Deadline:  April 25

Anyone interested in donating a prize should e-mail their information to Judy at jhugli@countyofrenfrew.on.ca by FRIDAY, APRIL 25.

GETAWAYS TRAVEL MAGAZINE - MAY 1

The OVTA is coordinating a co-op ad in the May issue of Getaways Travel Magazine. Getaways Travel Magazine consists of domestic and international travel ideas and tops, outdoor sporting activities and hobbies requiring travel.

Cost:   $250 for 1/4 page ad
Details:   Full colour, glossy, digest size
Distribution:   25,000 print copies on May 28 at Union Station in Toronto
Deadline:   May 1

VIC BROCHURE DISTRIBUTION - MAY 2

Members interested in having their brochure or rack card distributed to the Renfrew County Visitor Information Centres (VIC) are reminded to send their literature to the OVTA office by FRIDAY, MAY 2.

Brochures/rack cards must be divided into 10 bundles of 100 (total quantity: 1000).

myFM RADIO PROMOTION - MAY 16

The OVTA and myFM Radio have developed a radio promotion to draw listener's attention to the many great opportunities the Ottawa Valley offers to be a "Tourist in Your Backyard!"  Through funding from the Buy Local Committee, the OVTA will be running 80 - 30 second commercials to promote this message and direct listeners to the OVTA web site and travel guide/road map.

As part of the promotion, myFM is offering OVTA the members the opportunity to participate in the program by offering discounted air time tying in with the overall promotion. Personal commercials will be constructed of a 7 second tagline that ties your business with the OVTA. The remaining 23 seconds will be dedicated to your business message. The spots can run in Renfrew or Pembroke or can be divided equally between the two markets.

Additionally, there will also be a weekly tourism contest during the 8 week promotion. Members can donate prizes (minimum value: $50) and receive 25 mentions during the week that the prize is being given away.

Opportunity:   Radio Commercials

Cost:   $200 for 18 - 30 second commercials

Details:   7 second tagline tying your business with OVTA and 23 seconds with dedicate message

Market/Audience:   Local - Renfrew and Pembroke listeners

Deadline:   Friday, May 16

 

Opportunity:   Weekly Tourism Contest (on-air)

Cost:   Donation of prizes (minimum value: $50)

Details:   Receive 25 mentions during week of prize giveaway (coincides with advertising campaign)

SUMMER E-TRAVEL PACKAGES - MAY 19

Members who are interested in participating in the Summer E-Travel Packages (a FREE promotional opportunity), are reminded to e-mail their information to Kim at kfraser@countyofrenfrew.on.ca by MONDAY, MAY 19.

The Summer E-Travel packages, which will be distributed in May, is sent to the OVTA visitor inquiries e-mail list - totalling more than 1200 names.

RAPID MAGAZINE CO-OP AD - MAY 30

The OVTA is once again coordinating a full page co-operative ad for the July edition of Rapid Magazine.

The July issue will include a full-page ad promoting the "Whitewater Capital of Canada" brand, and will also feature the Petawawa River (Town Section), Bonnechere River (Bonnechere River Prov. Park and Round Lake) and the Coulonge River, as paddling routes.

Cost:   $320/member/issue (+ GST)

Details:   Includes business contact info, tag line, 25-word description and photo

Featured Paddling Routes (July): Petawawa River (Town Section), Bonnechere River (Bonnechere River Prov. Park & Round Lake) and Coulonge River

Deadline:   May 30
