NUTRITIOUS
MEALS IN RENFREW COUNTY
A
recent article in the Ottawa Citizen
and the January edition of the Ottawa
Valley Business (OVB) newsletter
reported that finding fresh and
nutritious food to eat is nearly
impossible in Renfrew County.
Robert
Cushman, CEO of the Champlain Local
Health Integration Network, who
recently spent a few days in Renfrew
County, came to the conclusion that
rural residents are a pretty unhealthy
bunch compared to their Ottawa counterparts
and claims to have had a difficult
time finding a restaurant that served
nutritious meals, rather than fried
fare. The Champlain Local Health
Integration Network is a new organization
responsible for funding and coordinating
health care to 1.1 million people
in Eastern Ontario.
The
OVB is working on a response to
the articles and is seeking comments
from the membership.
A
full copy of the Ottawa Citizen's
article can be found by clicking

Hein at thein@xplornet.com by
