ORDOVICIAN
FOSSIL CAPITAL OF CANADA
Congratulations
to Eganville who was recently named
the Ordovician Fossil Capital of
Canada!
The
Bonnechere Museum, in collaboration
with the Bonnechere Caves, Stew
Jack and the Felhaber Quarry, recently
registered the name "Ordovician
Fossil Capital of Canada" for
its use in promoting geology in
the Eganville area, as well as the
increasingly popular fossil hunts.
Already
in the fourth year of operation,
the Bonnechere Museum and its partners
have been holding 4 fossil hunts
a year, which consist of a presentation
at the museum, a walk around Eganville
to see the places where fossils
are present, followed by a trip
to the Felhaber Quarry where participants
can search and keep fossils.

INVESTOR
BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES
The
County of Renfrew Economic Development
department is always seeking information
about business opportunities available
in the County.
One
of their primary investment attraction
tools is the County of Renfrew Investment
and Business Opportunities (CORIBO)
database. This is a listing of businesses
for sale, investment opportunities
or concepts and development lands.
The database lists businesses and
opportunities in a confidential
manner, per the instructions of
the owners, and County staff will
act as a filter for contacts if
required. Listings are assigned
a file number and business names
can be kept confidential if requested.
For
more information or take advantage
of this free service, contact Alastair
Baird, Business Development Officer,
at abaird@countyofrenfrew.on.ca or
613.735.0091, ext. 466.
Do
you have an event or news item that
you would like the membership to
know about? Send your article to
Melissa at mjohnston@countyofrenfrew.on.ca.
