When the fall colours fade and the cool blanket of winter blows in, Renfrew County turns into snow country.  Ontario snowmobiling started here and a quarter century of trail building and plenty of soft, powdery snow tansforms the Valley into a family fun paradise.

Snowmobiling
Winter in the Ottawa Valley means lots of snow and crisp temperatures - perfect snowmobiling weather for sledding enthusiasts. We offer snowmobile enthusiasts over 2,400km of groomed Trans Ontario Provincial (TOP) trails and local trails that wind through picturesque villages, along abandoned rail beds, past old mine sites and gost towns. (maps/information)

Downhill Skiing
Our tree-lined slopes, challenging vertical drops (including the highest in Eastern Ontario) and gentle runs make the Ottawa Valley a great downhill skiing destination. (resorts in the area)

Cross-Country Skiing
Whether your out to view the beautiful countryside, or to compete in one of several annual marathons, our trails will leave you breathless. (View a list of trails)

Skating
Looking for a place to skate.  Many of our municipalities have well-maintained public indoor and outdoor skating rinks, open from Dec. to Mid march, weather pending (View list of indoor/outdoor rinks).

Curling
Find a sheet of ice in the valley and throw a rock or two
(rinks/events).
